I am constantly being asked for the right approcah migrating SAP Business Suite applications from traditional database to SAP HANA. And the most focused point is custom developments. How it will work, what needs to be done, how much the performance will increase, and so on.
I cannot say I know all the answers, but now I know where the answer is.
On Saturday, 9th of May, we held SAP CodeJam Istanbul, with the topic ABAP for SAP HANA Fundamentals. Our experts, Thomas Gauweiler and Ingo Braeuninger were kind enough to present latest developments, tools and methods for ABAP on HANA, before start coding actions.
For me, the most impressing slide was the picture below.
They simply mentioned three main steps to follow; discover, optimize and innovate, for the ABAP on HANA journey. And the tools and methods were there, ADT, ACT, SQLM, CDS, OSQL and AMDP. Very impressive! It was enough to bring participants attraction.
